General Electric (GE) University MRI & Diagnostic Imaging Centers is a show site for GE. Physicians and universities from around the world tour University MRI centers to witness first hand the technology and to discuss medical applications. As a show site, University MRI is able to obtain prototypes and equipment usually reserved for hospital settings. Because of this relationship, University MRI is two years ahead of the competition in terms of equipment and technology. Examples of advanced GE technology include the new Signa EXCITETM 3.0T system - an ultra high field scanner that breaks the mold with its revolutionary magnet design, industry-leading data management and elegantly effective methods for managing acoustic noise.
