InSightec InSightec is a market leader in the field of noninvasive surgery through the combination of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFUS), a totally noninvasive therapy, and real time MRI based guidance and monitoring. InSightec's focus is on accelerated clinical research with promising results in the treatment of uterine fibroids. Traditional treatments for uterine fibroids include surgical interventions such as hysterectomy or abdominal myomectomy, both requiring laparotomy (opening of the abdomen) and prolonged hospitalization. With Magnetic Resonance Guided Focused Ultrasound, fibroids can be guided and monitored by MRI while being ablated by the use of high frequency sound waves. University MRI & Diagnostic Imaging Centers is one of five Uterine Fibroid Clinical Trial sites in the United States and the only participating freestanding diagnostic imaging center.
