Preparing for Sedation Imaging

Sedation Imaging Preparations

  1. Patients are advised not to eat or drink for a period of 4 hours prior to having the exam (excluding diabetics). Medications taken for the heart, high blood pressure or asthma may be taken as normal with a small sip of water.

  2. A licensed driver must accompany the patient to and from the office and remain at the office during the entire exam time. At least one parent or legal guardian must accompany children. Patients may feel drowsy following the exam and will not be able to drive, operate machinery or drink alcohol for the remainder of the day.

  3. The patient should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Gowns are also provided if necessary.
