Low bone density is a general health concern. Calcium loss can lead to fractures. This simple, non-invasive test is an accurate predictor for fractures of the spine and hips. A bone density exam may be indicated for the following conditions:

• Use of steroid-based products (i.e., Asthma inhalers)
• Thyroid conditions
• Chemotherapy
• Menopause
• Hysterectomy
• Premature fractures
• Advanced age
